Key Note, Joelle - Devotional Essay
‘Good Conversation’
The talk goes on and on hopelessly because the phone keeps ringing
constantly. My intention doesn’t matter. As I continue to talk hastily through
the conversation I end up saying quick goodbye and find myself sitting in a
chair, gazing at something blankly. It is a common occurrence that happens
without a warning. Most of the questions require answers to it and I feel like
pioneering the wrong way by unprepared answers. Why does this happen to me? Why
do I hold unto the meaningless things? It is not easy to go along with the
fast-changing world. The abundance which is like a wide net that can cover the
world has snatched my being and time. The ringing sound from the story with no
light where only comparison and judgment is habituated; it is neither
communication but just a way of measuring its own perception and
perspective.
I really appreciate meeting person to person and having conversation by looking at each other ii the eyes. It is a place of learning for me to meet the ideas or people with my hands that can touch and feel and also to see the things that are not known by the sounds you hear through the ears. Making time for others and getting ready to meet others are times when I have the opportunity to refine my words. I think about the stories that I need to listen to and the stories that I need to share about. Meeting together with prayer asking for wisdom and love becomes a blessing for each other in the Lord. Sharing stories, it may be easier nowadays, but I have to go around more busily. People who can lead each day living with proactive attitude rather than adjusting to living within the flow of time and life are actively involved in other’s time.
Such intervention is urgent and comes with daring and bold attitude. The bomber rushing toward me at a massive volume makes me reluctant. I merely jump into silence uttering words and failing to speak out properly. When I look back, did I have to answer all the questions? The feast of words that don’t need to be talked over or answered can be harmful to each other. There are times when I can be the target and center of the conversation despite the fact that I am not present. The winding thread can be tangled and I don’t have a way to straighten it out. Is it necessary for me to deal with the unexpected situations that happened without any of my intentions or involvement? When I confront such moments, it becomes another trial. The unpleasant noise in my ears is from the cries of the sound that pops in always. Meekness is what you will find when you find calmness within such chaos. God‘s kindness is still flowing even when we are running short on time or wasting it. I shall be whole in His kindness and rightly divided plan. My story within the hope of the Father is like a foundation of God’s Word which stands sure having the seal. Calmly and steadily walking in the righteous path ahead is a story which has been like a reserved lamp that lights the way. Let’s sit down, face to face and share stories.
Why don’t we talk over a cup of coffee?
