극동방송 어린이합창단 [극동방송 나라사랑음악회 in 케네디센터] 

매년 8월 15일 광복절을 기념해 전국 주요 도시를 순회하며 열리는 극동방송 <나라사랑축제>. 평화와 통일을 향한 염원을 담아 화합의 하모니를 선보여 온 극동방송 어린이합창단은 2024년, 세계 정치의 중심인 워싱턴 D.C.에 위치한 존 F. 케네디 센터에서 다채로운 공연을 펼치며 재미교포와 현지 관객들에게 큰 찬사를 받았다.

당시 케네디센터 콘서트홀 무대에서 선보였던 감동의 음악들을 엄선해 『극동방송 나라사랑음악회 in 케네디센터 2024』앨범에 담았다. 한국과 미국을 대표하는 패트리어틱 송 ‘아 대한민국’과 ‘America the Beautiful’을 메들리로 엮은 연합합창을 시작으로, 한국 전통의 리듬과 선율을 담은 음악, 미국 민요와 올드팝, 영어 찬양 등 다양한 장르의 곡들을 폭넓게 감상할 수 있다.

또한 미군 참전용사들의 희생과 용기에 대한 감사의 마음을 담아 300여 명의 어린이들이 힘차게 부른 행진곡 ‘미군가 메들리 & 승전가’ 를 비롯해, 세계 평화와 통일의 염원을 담아 부른 감동의 노래 ‘우리의 소원 통일’, 그리고 관객들과 호흡하며 영광스런 피날레를 장식한 박신화 지휘의 700명 대합창 ‘할렐루야’까지, 웅장하고 깊은 감동의 울림을 생생하게 전한다.

이 외에도 고국에 대한 그리움을 전하는 ‘고향의 봄’과 ‘조국찬가’, 민족의 역사를 담은 동요와 찬양, 한미 우호를 상징하는 한·영 찬송가 등 다양한 레퍼토리 곡들을 어린이합창단 특유의 맑고 순수한 음색으로 만날 수 있다.

FEBC-Korea Children's Choir Patriotic Concert in Kennedy Center 2024

The FEBC-Korea Children's Choir Patriotic Concert is an annual concert series hosted by the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) every August 15th to celebrate National Liberation Day, touring major cities across South Korea. In 2024, the FEBC Children’s Choir—renowned for delivering harmonies of unity filled with hopes for peace and reunification—performed a vibrant showcase at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the heart of global politics, earning high praise from both Korean-Americans and local audiences.

This album, "FEBC-Korea Children's Choir Patriotic Concer in Kennedy Center 2024," features a curated selection of the most moving performances from that very stage in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Listeners can enjoy a wide array of genres, starting with a combined choir medley of iconic patriotic songs from both nations: Korea's "Ah! Korea" and America's "America the Beautiful." The tracklist also spans traditional Korean rhythms and melodies, American folk songs, old pop classics, and English contemporary Christian music.

The album vividly captures moments of grand and deep emotion, including:
"U.S. Armed Forces Medley & Battle Hymn of the Republic": A powerful march sung by over 300 children to express heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice and courage of Korean War veterans.
"Our Cherished Wish Is Unification": A touching anthem carrying a collective prayer for world peace and national reunification.
"Hallelujah": The glorious grand finale conducted by Shin-Hwa Park, featuring a breathtaking 700-voice choir that perfectly connected with the audience.

Additionally, the album showcases a diverse repertoire delivered in the choir’s signature clear and pure tones. This includes nostalgic tracks like "Spring in My Hometown" and "Hymn to the Homeland," children's songs and worship tracks rooted in national history, and bilingual hymns symbolizing the enduring friendship between South Korea and the United States.
