Billy (Rockwell) is Marty's best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who will help Marty by any means necessary. As does Woody Harrelson as the crime boss. Give up your deep seated/seeded/ceded need to find real life characters to sort of represent what you'll find in this movie and you'll have a good time. It's as much about writing as it is anything else and will appeal to people who like creative experimental and strange films. SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS is an unpredictable, funny, occasionally faltering but regularly excellent piece of cinema.

It's been a while since I watched it so I forget the names but Colin Farells best friend became seriously annoying after a while. comedy? Very british comedy by the guy that wrote and directed 'In Bruges', so this is similar to that of course.

This is what will appear next to your ratings and reviews. Yet it also pokes fun at the art house crowd as well, with Colin Farrell's pacifistic Marty's desire to write a life affirming film about psychopaths coming to a head with Sam Rockwell's more unhinged Billy and his more mainstream desire to make it an action film with gratuitous gore and sex so the film isn't boring.

In "Seven Psychopaths", Collin Farrell's role is of a writer named Marty Faranan.

A Fun Look Into The Madness of Filmmaking, Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2016. This one has the makings of another cult movie as far as I am concerned. Hans and Billy run quite an exquisite business, dognapping.

The two con artists spend their day snatching beloved pets, in hopes for a big reward when they return them back home.

It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.2 and a MetaScore of 66. Mostly. Full of great scenes. This is mostly due to the confusing ad campaign which made it seem like a wacky comedy, when it is so much more. There's a fair amount of blood, but limited in duration. Thank you for this action? All he needs is a little focus and inspiration.

Not as much fun as Get Shorty, and more of the writers-writing-writers issues, but different.

Having thoroughly enjoyed "3 billboards" I've been hunting down as many Martin McDonagh films as I can. A cracking cast, inventive plotting and many of the tropes that distinguish McDonagh's earlier and later film work. Arm-wrestles the split between shlock and sincerity... Engagingly off-centre, like Charlie Kaufman taking down Quentin Tarantino... often closer to chaos than it is to genius.

Regardless, Seven Psychopaths proves to be a fun, mad, ride that is beautifully shot and edited and definitely worth a watch.

Enormously entertaining, endlessly quotable, perfectly cast and packed full of the richest acting you'll see from an ensemble cast all year, but the result is ever so slightly hollow.

Yet Marty makes it a habit to take Billy's ideas, and act as if they are his own. "Seven Psychopaths" is for moviegoers who enjoy a lot of involvement, and love physiological roles. Throughout the movie, Marty (Collin Farrell) is lightly working on his script, which is coincidentally titled 'Seven Psychopaths'. Hans (Walken) is Billy's partner in crime, a religious man with a violent past. This freaked me out how good it was. I think it's meant to be over the top, it doesn't take itself seriously and that's a good thing.

The whole movie feels like what someone thought was going to be really cool, but really didn't end up that way. The acting is superb by pure professionals which means if your not LOL then its emotional and your empathising with the characters.... For those who enjoyed Martin McDonagh's excellent debut feature 'In Bruges', there's much to revel in the madness of such material in 'Seven Psychopaths' which unfortunately leads to more misses than hits.

It's not a bad idea if you can make it work.

Peppered throughout, are some great moments both comedic and dramatic, with the always wonderful Christopher Walken stealing every scene he's in.

Billy is eager to help his admirable friend write the script for his film, but Marty shrugs the idea off, with no intention of attaching Billy's name. The meta narrative woven throughout the plot, linking the protagonist's unfinished script and the plot of the film in such a way as to explore the genre of crime drama/action films and showing just how messed up the minds of characters in those films would actually have to be in order for the plot to actually happen. Meta to the max, filled with clever jokes and observations that stick like barbs and deflated ones that land with a thud.

None of works together in this instance.
